Default Do you feel you give more than you receive in conversation?

I wonder does anyone else feel like this. I find conversation draining with most people because I seem to do all the work. It's not that I'm a blabber-mouth. I try to give other people openings and I ask them plenty of questions. I try to listen. But in most conversations-- from a few minutes' exchange to a night of talk-- I end up doing the vast majority of the talking, if only to fill the silences. Even if I go to the pub with a group, I seem to be the person keeping the ball in the air most of the time. There are only a few people I know with whom conversation isn't a strain, people who know how to exchange ideas and keep a discussion alive. Is the art of conversation dying? I know I sound incredibly arrogant but I'm so exasperated I don't care.
